About Sarah Miles, MA EBW

When my mare Raja tore a hamstring in a training accident and developed fibrotic myopathy, a permanent mechanical lameness, it suddenly became natural to learn how to do bodywork for her. So when people ask me why I became a body worker, I just say it was Raja's idea. Luckily for me, she was an excellent teacher. I have also had the privilege of studying with many other excellent teachers at Equinology where I earned my Equine Body Worker (EBW) certification after completing Debranne Pattillo's 250-hour foundation sports massage course. I adore my studies, but above all else, I love to work with and for the horses, where the real learning happens.
Education: I have completed over 400 hours of study in the following courses:
Fundamentals of Equine Dentistry with Dr. Larry Kelly
Stretching and Range of Motion Exercises with Debranne Pattillo
Understanding Farrier Science and the Current Trends with Farrier Patrick Reilly of Penn State (I loved this one so much I took it twice!)
Presentation of Lameness Case Studies with Dr. Mike Ross DVM, Dipl ACVS
Advanced Equine Massage Techniques Level 1 with Debranne Pattillo
Progressive Equine Anatomy with Debranne Pattillo (I loved this one so much I took it twice too!)
Biomechanics, Applied Anatomy, and Gait Abnormalities with Dr. Hilary Clayton BVMS, PhD, MRCVS at McPhail Equine Performance Center at the College of Veterinary Medicine at Michigan State University
Principles of Saddle Fitting and Shoeing Dynamics with Dr. Kerry Ridgway
